2016 Nomine Amoris
Skin-Fermented Pinot Gris
Riverbench Vineyard, Santa Maria Valley
55 cases made
This amber-hued, textured, ramato-style Pinot Gris carries a multi-sensorial energy, equal parts electricity and spice. It spent fifteen days on skins, fully finishing primary fermentation before we pressed the wine to neutral French oak barrels for five months before bottling. The vines grow on the famous Santa Maria Bench, an ancient riverbed of alluvial soils. There is an intensity to this wine; flowers and fruit and grip. Drink it chilled, but not too cold, and enjoy the fireworks.
Unfined & unfiltered. 13.2% alcohol. Natural sediment will form in the bottle upon extended refrigeration.
